September 3, 2026 — The Desormeaux-Chambly thrift store is unveiling its new space, marking an important milestone for the organization.
In an effort to ensure the continuity of its operations, Le Support reached out to Renaissance last year to take over its activities, drawing on Renaissance’s expertise in reuse and socio-professional integration. The organization was officially integrated into Renaissance in December 2025.
This transition has made it possible to preserve Le Support’s legacy and ensure the continuity of its activities, while giving its mission new momentum. Carried out in close collaboration with Le Support’s teams and partners, the process reflected a shared commitment to strengthening the social, economic and environmental impact of its activities for the benefit of the community.
A Shared Vision, A New Energy
Since taking over the activities, the Renaissance team has undertaken a complete transformation of the thrift store. The goal: to create a warm, modern and welcoming space that reflects Renaissance’s vision.
Every detail was carefully considered to showcase reuse and make the thrift store a place where every item can find a second life. But beyond the finds and great deals, every purchase also contributes to a concrete social mission by supporting socio-professional integration pathways for people who are distanced from the labour market.
Even during the renovations, the thrift store remained open to the public. This decision made it possible to maintain services for the community while carefully preparing for the transformation of the space.
An Opening That Celebrates More Than a New Space
The opening of the Desormeaux-Chambly thrift represents much more than the launch of a renovated space. It celebrates the continuity of a mission, the strength of collaboration and the commitment of a community that believes in the power of reuse.
With its new space, the thrift store continues its commitment to a circular and solidarity-based economy. The thrift now joins the network of 47 Renaissance stores across Quebec, strengthening a community committed to reuse, socio-professional integration and the social economy. Every donation, visit and purchase helps give items a second life while creating positive social and environmental impacts.
This transformation was made possible through the mobilization of the teams, partners and everyone who, over the years, has helped make the Desormeaux-Chambly thrift store an important part of the community.
A new look and renewed momentum, grounded in a mission that remains committed to social inclusion, environmental responsibility, and community impact.
