Celebrating 30 years of social impact

On November 14, 1994, Renaissance Québec was founded, born from a shared dream. Guided by the proverb that says giving a fish feeds for a day, but teaching to fish feeds for life, our founders aimed to create an organization that could offer all Quebecers social and professional integration services to fight poverty and social inequality. This dream also included reducing the waste of still usable goods, giving them a second life.

In 30 years, Renaissance has strengthened its expertise in social and professional integration, the collection and reuse of residual materials, and the social and circular economy. We are celebrating three decades of social impact, generosity, and solidarity, transforming lives and building human success. This achievement is the result of an engaged ecosystem, making Renaissance a key player in social inclusion, environmental preservation, and the fight against poverty.

Events
Several celebrations and events are planned to mark this important milestone. The festivities begin today, November 14, 2024. This morning, upon arrival, each team received a message from the General Director. At lunchtime, every employee, participant, and volunteer received a birthday cake to enjoy a festive moment directly at their workstations.

In the evening, we will have the privilege of welcoming the founding partners and special guests at the Saint-Laurent thrift store for a more intimate and friendly event. We will have the opportunity to hear speeches from our special guests:

  • Chantal Rouleau, Minister responsible for Social Solidarity and Community Action and Member of the National Assembly for Pointe-aux-Trembles;
  • Andrés Fontecilla, Member of the National Assembly for Laurier-Dorion;
  • Marc Picard, General Director of the Caisse d’économie solidaire.
