Moving season is the perfect time to sort through your belongings. Clothing you no longer wear, duplicate kitchen items, decorations tucked away in storage—many of these items can still be useful to someone else.

Before You Throw It Away, Consider Donating

At Renaissance, every donation helps give items a second life while supporting people who face barriers to entering the workforce.

How to Donate

It’s easy:

• Go through your home and set aside items you no longer need.
• Check the list of accepted donations on our website.
• Find the Renaissance donation centre nearest you.
• Drop off your donations during opening hours.

A quick reminder: Please do not leave donations outside our donation centres. Items exposed to the weather may become damaged and can no longer be reused.

Your Donations Make a Real Difference

Every donated item helps reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. In 2025–2026, more than 36,000 tonnes of items were diverted from landfill thanks to the generosity of our donors.

Donations also help fund Renaissance’s employment and social integration programs. During the same year, 4,842 people benefited from our employment integration programs, Renaissance Employment Assistance Centres (CAER), or Passerelle services.

Once collected, donated items are sorted, prepared, and sold in our network of thrift stores. This allows us to offer affordable goods to the community while supporting the organization’s mission.

A Small Gesture That Makes a Big Difference

If you’re planning to move this summer, take a few minutes to declutter before you start packing. The items you no longer need could find a second home while helping support a cause that has a meaningful impact in the community.
