The first rays of sunshine remind us that now is the perfect time to welcome fresh energy and start anew. It’s also the ideal moment to declutter your home. This season, we invite you to be part of the change by adopting responsible habits with Renaissance.

For 30 years, we have been supporting Quebecers in their daily lives, and every donation makes a real difference for those in need.

Decluttering: A Simple Yet Powerful Act

The change of season is the perfect time to take stock of your surroundings. But how do you decide what to keep and what to donate? Here are a few simple tips to help you sort through your belongings:

  • Go Through Your Wardrobe: Start by checking your closet. If you haven’t worn an item in over six months, it might be time to give it a new life. If it has been sitting untouched for an entire season, you’re probably ready to part with it.

  • Don’t Keep Things Out of Guilt: Sometimes, we hold onto items out of obligation or simply because they’re “still in good condition.” If something no longer brings you joy, whether it’s too small, too big, or out of style, bring it to Renaissance. It will find a new home and free up space in yours.

  • Think About Quality: Before donating an item, make sure it’s in good condition. We gladly accept clothing, accessories, and household items that can be reused, but we do not take furniture or damaged goods.

  • Make Room for What Matters: If you tend to keep things “just in case,” spring is the perfect time to assess their usefulness. If you haven’t used an item in months and don’t have a strong reason to keep it, let it go.
