Lévis, April 23, 2025 – Renaissance is proud to announce the official inauguration of its newly redesigned thrift store at 24 Plaza Charles-A.-Cadieux in Lévis. The store, completely renovated, is the result of the transformation of the former Ressourcerie Lévis, a well-established organization that has been serving the community for over 20 years. The integration of Ressourcerie Lévis into Renaissance, announced in January 2024, marks a significant milestone in the organization’s regional development strategy.
“Our arrival in Lévis represents a pivotal moment for Renaissance,” said Éric St-Arnaud, CEO. “When we were approached by the Ressourcerie, it was only natural for us to answer the call. We share a common vision: to give a second life to objects, support individuals distanced from the job market, and strengthen the social fabric of our communities. This partnership is a concrete way to unite our efforts for a more inclusive and sustainable Québec.”
Founded in the early 2000s under the name Ô Génie Bleu!, Ressourcerie Lévis was dedicated to offering affordable goods, supporting professional reintegration, and promoting the reuse of objects to reduce landfill waste. By joining the Renaissance family, this mission continues, now strengthened with new resources and a deeper Québec-based foundation.
Since January 2024, the Renaissance team has undertaken a complete renovation of the space to bring its vision to life: a welcoming, modern environment where every item is given a second chance and where every purchase supports a professional reintegration journey. Throughout the renovation, the thrift store remained open to the public — ensuring continued access to services while preparing for the future.
This new thrift store marks another key step in Renaissance’s ambition to strengthen its presence in the Capitale-Nationale region. Following the opening of its first donation center in Sainte-Foy last year, the organization will soon take another major step with the inauguration of a 26,000-square-foot space in Québec City, combining a thrift store, a donation center, and a sorting center — the largest of its kind in the region. With the opening of the Lévis thrift store, Renaissance now operates 42 locations across Québec, reinforcing its position as one of the province’s most dynamic players in the social and circular economy.
In Lévis, Renaissance is not simply opening a new store: it is offering a model that combines social inclusion and ecological transition. The goal is ambitious: to divert 3,000 tonnes of used goods from landfills within three years, while supporting individuals in vulnerable situations in their return to employment or education.
Renaissance’s arrival in the region also builds on a strong network of local partners, including Réno-Jouets and Recyclage Vanier, with whom collaborations are already underway to maximize social impact.
To celebrate our arrival in Lévis, we had the honor of welcoming several distinguished guests, including:
Their presence beautifully underscored the significance of this event, both for our organization and for the Lévis community.
