Renaissance maintains its social mission
while suspending its commercial activities

Following January 6th Quebec Government announcement of an additional 4-week lockdown, all Renaissance stores and donation centres must remain closed until February 7th, 2021. Only a few employees will be on duty to provide essential administrative support services. This is difficult for a non-profit organization whose social mission is to reintegrate people into the job market, and whose income comes from the sale of donations offered by the community.

“This is a new ordeal for all of us” says Éric St-Arnaud, Executive Director of Renaissance. “We ask our generous donors to save their donations for when we reopen. They will help us to revive our economic activity and pursue our social mission.”

“The social mission of Renaissance will continue while we have to interrupt our commercial activities, as it’s an essential service. Our socio-professional services help vulnerable people. We will keep providing service remotely by videoconference ” says Karine-Katia Cole, Director of socio-professional services. The intervention team will be available by phone to provide a safety net and psychological support to its 124 active participants. The long-standing collaboration with partners such as Emploi-Québec allows us to maintain this service.

For over 25 years now, Renaissance has helped nearly 6,000 people re-enter the job market and regain their independence. This success is the result of the great solidarity that unites the team, and the precious support of the community and its partners, who believe in its mission.
